Shiftr Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 June 2026

Shiftr ("the extension") does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data to its developer or to any third party operated by the developer.

Data stored locally

Your personas, style profiles, provider settings, API keys, and per-platform preferences are stored locally in your browser using your browser's extension storage. This data never leaves your device except as described below.

Data sent to AI providers

When you generate content, the text you are working with — the post or comment context, your draft, your persona details, and any guidance you provide — is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you configured (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Groq, Together, Mistral, or a local model via Ollama). This data is sent only to the provider you chose, and is handled under that provider's own privacy policy and terms. The developer of Shiftr does not receive, log, or have access to this data.

License validation

If you purchase and activate a paid license, your license key is sent to Lemon Squeezy to verify that it is valid. Please refer to Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy for details on how they process this information. No other data is sent during license validation.

No analytics or tracking

Shiftr contains no analytics, tracking pixels, advertising, or telemetry of any kind. The only network requests the extension makes are to the AI provider you configured and, for paid users, to Lemon Squeezy for license validation.
